Description

The Eagle Nebula and The Pillars of Creation is one of the most iconic astro images made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope.

The Eagle Nebula is also known as M16, NGC 661, Sh2-49, The Spire, and the Star Queen Nebula. It is a young open cluster of stars in the constellation Serpens. The nebula contains several active star-forming gas and dust regions, and it lies in the Sagittarius Arm of the Milky Way.

The Eagle Nebula is part of a diffuse emission nebula, or HII region which is catalogued as IC 4703. This region of active current star formation is about 5700 LY from Earth.

This one was out of season for my location and I was only able to capture one hour per night in the early morning skies just before dawn. Processed in the Hubble Pallette.

Update: Version D in HOO

I hope you enjoy the image, Eddie
